Multiple sources reveal that Little Al is, well, a big jerk. Reports of blatant racism, a terrible temper, and a vicious demeanor abound on the Internet. Sometimes, it doesn't matter how skilled you are at your craft. If you're going to be a jerk, ultimately, people will go somewhere else so as to not have to put up with the crap. Looks like that's what happened here.
I've always liked the hand-painted sign that's been there forever. The building itself was built in 1913, which sets it apart from most other buildings along this stretch of Milwaukee Ave. Most buildings appear to have been built between the 40's-90's.
